Advisory council overview
Since inception DFMC has run a Ward Representative Advisory Council (WRAC). This group acted as a sounding board to help drive the co-operative forward.
Among their duties, the WRAC considered issues on policy and strategy presented to them by the DFMC Board. Additionally, they consulted with the board on regional issues and ideas from members throughout the year. This two-way, consultative approach underscores a key foundation of the co-operative.
A new body, the Co-operative Advisory Representatives (CAR) will replace the WRAC and serve its primary function to “receive information from members and to distribute information to members” and will also have a broader objective:
Developing future dairy leaders
To create a group of young members with the co-operative, & industry, awareness to become the next generation of co-operative, or dairy industry, leaders.
