The Dairy Industry Code of Conduct (the Code) aims to increase the clarity and transparency of trading arrangements between dairy farmers and those buying their milk – DFMC (as the first purchaser)

2024/25 Victoria Northern & NSW Riverina and Victoria Western District- Exclusive agreement
Statement of Circumstances
4 million litres
DFMC will enter into this agreement if the farmer is a member of the co-operative (or agrees to become a member immediately after entering into this agreement) and:
- the farm is within the regions defined by the following:
- Local Government Areas; Victoria Greater Shepparton, Moira, Campaspe, Gannawarra (east of Kerang), Wangaratta, Indigo, Ballarat. Southern NSW specifically; Murray, Berrigan, Corowa
- Western Districts specifically: Colac Otway (25km radius of Colac township), Corangamite, Moyne, Warrnambool, Glenelg, Southern Grampians.
- the farmer wishes to supply DFMC on an exclusive basis;
- the farmer can supply DFMC with an annual volume greater than 240,000 litres;
- the farmer can supply milk of a high quality (TPC <20,000 cfu/mL and SCC <300,000 cells/ml);
- Current Dairy Licence;
- Compliance with legislation in relation to milk production, including environmental/effluent management and animal welfare;
- Bega is obligated to acquire the milk the subject of this agreement from DFMC pursuant to the Milk Supply Agreement between DFMC and Bega; and
- the farmer has demonstrated compliance with DFMCs Milk Policy (if the farmer has supplied DFMC before) or is able to demonstrate that the farmer can comply with DFMC’s Milk Policy and this agreement;
provided that DFMC has a demand for milk at the time a farmer offers to enter into this agreement with DFMC, with priority being given to farmers who are existing DFMC members.

2024/25 Organic Milk – Victoria – Exclusive agreement
Statement of Circumstances
DFMC requires approximately 7 million litres of Organic milk for the 2024/25 season.
This volume aligns with our customer requirements.
DFMC will enter into this agreement if the farmer is a member of the co-operative (or agrees to become a member immediately after entering into this agreement) and:
All milk supplied under this agreement must come from a supplier farm that has Organic Certification from an Approved Organic Certifier.
Details of our milk price model and terms are set out in the DFMC Organic Milk Supply Agreement and Milk Policy attached, both of which have been updated to ensure compliance with the Dairy Code of Conduct introduced 1 January 2020 (the Code).

2024/25
Victoria Northern & NSW Riverina and Victoria Western District – Non-Exclusive agreement
Statement of Circumstances
DFMC will enter into this agreement if the farmer is a member of the co-operative (or agrees to become a member immediately after entering into this agreement) and:
- the farm is within the regions defined by the following:

- Historic compliance with the quality standards and quality assurance program of a member of the DFMC or proof of compliance with another processor’s quality standards and program
- Commitment to Occupational Health and Safety for the staff and contractors of the DFMC
- Safe and efficient tanker access and logistically efficient collection for the milk transport contractors
- the farmer can supply DFMC with an annual volume greater than 240,000 litres;
- the farmer can supply milk of a high quality (TPC <20,000 cfu/mL and SCC <300,000 cells/ml);
- Bega is obligated to acquire the milk the subject of this agreement from DFMC pursuant to the Milk Supply Agreement between DFMC and Bega; and
- the farmer has demonstrated compliance with DFMCs Milk Policy (if the farmer has supplied DFMC before) or is able to demonstrate that the farmer can comply with DFMC’s Milk Policy and this agreement;
provided that DFMC has a demand for milk at the time a farmer offers to enter into this agreement with DFMC, with priority being given to farmers who are existing DFMC members.

- a distance by road no greater than 150 km from the Bega Dairy & Drinks factory in Salisbury.
- the farmer wishes to supply DFMC on an exclusive basis;
- the farmer can supply DFMC with an annual volume greater than 240,000 litres;
- the farmer can supply milk of a high quality (TPC <20,000 cfu/mL and SCC <300,000 cells/ml);
- Bega is obligated to acquire the milk the subject of this agreement from DFMC pursuant to the Milk Supply Agreement between DFMC and Bega; and
- the farmer has demonstrated compliance with DFMCs Milk Policy (if the farmer has supplied DFMC before) or is able to demonstrate that the farmer can comply with DFMC’s Milk Policy and this agreement;
