Proud to be a dairy farmer: Jason Tessmann selected to participate

Kingaroy based DFMC supplier Jason Tessmann has been selected to participate in the Proud To Be A Dairy Farmer program and is heading to Melbourne for an intensive three day event squarely focused on our industry.  The goal of the program is to attract, support and retain better informed people within the dairy industry.  It focuses on a broad range of relevant topics with guest speakers, farm visits, milk processing facility tours and a formal dinner with industry leaders.

DFMC welcomes new members

It’s the end of an era for Wendy Jones and her son Rod with the sale of their farm at Kennilworth going through.  Purchasing the property in 1975 Wendy, and her late husband David, has milked cows at the foothills below Maleny alongside the Mary River for decades.  Recently the property was put up for sale and with much interest it was pleasing to see Joe & Robyn Anstis (and daughter Jacinta) purchase the property with clear plans to continue milking the Jones’ herd of quality Jerseys.  Joe & Robyn have signed a contract with DFMC, and we welcome them into the Co-operative and look forward to their contributions to the industry.

We also welcome back suppliers Joseph and Jan Gazzola from Jervois. After suppling a couple of other processors Joe & Jan have rejoined DMFC after being attracted to our multi-year contracts and competitive pricing in South Australia. Farming on the Lower Murray River Swamps above Lake Alexandrina the Gazzola’s run a dairy & cropping enterprise of over 2000 acres and join Joe’s brother Dino and mother Luisa as DFMC suppliers.
